As I was sitting here thinking about what topic I would write on today, I do like I often do...opened Facebook. And there was a meme at the top of my page which was talking about redirection. Actually, it was about rejection being cosmic redirection. Oh, how true that is.
See, spirit guides us through events and sometimes those events aren't pleasant. In fact, they can be downright heartbreaking. But, what if that event was directing you to something better? Or something you are supposed to do?
A wise teacher once told me that no matter which road we take, we are going to end up where we are supposed to be. Choices and free will are the detours we take during this journey called life on earth. And sometimes we get an overwhelming urge to do something or go somewhere and no matter what happens, we are going to do that very thing. It may not be anything which advances toward our destination, but yet it is. Because every path we take, every detour, is a learning opportunity.
When I talk about learning opportunities, I don't mean easy lessons. I'd be lying to myself and everyone else if I said every lesson we learn is going to be a pleasant experience, sometimes they just aren't pleasant at all. But in the end, that lesson builds our soul in ways it would not have been built if not for the lesson. Those lessons give us a new perspective on compassion, empathy, kindness, and many other good things...even though the lesson may have brought hurt, pain, sorrow and loss. Because for every negative, there must be a positive. It's the balance of the earth and the beyond. "As above so below"...remember?
So, let's talk about cosmic redirection...or rejection...
What if what we wanted or desired was not right for us? Wouldn't we want to be steered away from something that was going to be detrimental to us? When we were turned down for that job, maybe it was because the job was going to be so demanding and time consuming it overwhelmed us and took us away from the people, places and things that were more important to us. Maybe it would wear us down to the point we became physically ill. Or maybe, just maybe, there was something better for us just around the corner and the Divine wanted us to see that opportunity which we wouldn't have seen had be gotten this opportunity.
The same goes for relationships. Maybe if you remained in a particular relationship, that relationship would have held you back from what your life's purpose was to be. Or, perhaps, the relationship would have caused you to become stagnant and eventually lead to emotional lethargy. A loss of who you were intended to be. It could be the person with whom you were having a relationship was narcissistic or abusive and that rejection was intended to protect you from the harm which would have befallen you had you remained with that person.
Like I said...and fully believe...spirit or the Divine guides us where we need to go through a variety of ways and it's a natural thing because spirit and the Divine lives within each of us. When you feel as if you are being rejected by something or someone, look at it as that Divine guidance intended to make you the best you can be.
I know this is a short post today, but spirit gives me only what spirit wants me to share on a particular day. If you'd like an appointment to explore what spirit may have to say to you, I can be reached at teresa.keefer.author@hotmail.com
Many blessings to each of you...
