How awesome is it that Mother Nature has bestowed a beautiful sunny day upon us? What more could we ask for in the middle of winter but a 40 degree day with sunshine and not a cloud in the sky?
Today, I want to talk about being in the present. Being in the present allows us to enjoy each moment as it unfolds. The past doesn't haunt us and the future doesn't provoke fear or uncertainty in us. We are able to just be. To be grateful for being in another day. I know it's an old phrase...but each day is a gift...that's why it's called the present.
How much freedom could you enjoy if you detached yourself from wondering whether things could have been done differently in the past or what can you do to make tomorrow what you want it to be?
Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't have goals and objectives or that you shouldn't have dreams you want to bring to fruition. But what if you just focused on what you could do today to make it as perfect as can be? Or if you did something today that you want to bring results tomorrow without worrying if it happens or not?
Let's take it a little bit further...what if today ended up being the last day in your human body? Could you say that you enjoyed your last day on earth. What would you do today if you knew it was your last...because honestly, we don't know when we will get called home to our spirit home. If you lived each day as if it were your last, think about how full each of your days would be!
Seriously, you can't go back to yesterday or last month or last year and change it. What you can do is be grateful for the experience and acknowledge what you learned from it, because that's really all our human existence is all about. Spiritual beings living a human experience. And you picked the lessons you wanted to learn long before you were born into a human body. If you take each experience as a learning moment and let it go rather on dwell on what went wrong, look instead at what you learned. Because that's what life on earth is all about.
We are only here for a brief moment in our everlasting soul life. Our soul never dies, it merely makes the trip back and forth from the spirit world or heaven as I like to think of our spirit home. Our soul or spirit lives many lives. Time is just a measure here on earth and means nothing in our spirit home. That's why we should look at each day as a gift. A gift of knowing what it is like to be on earth. A gift of experience. I encourage each of you to enjoy that experience. Stop and smell the roses, search for the gold at the end of the rainbow, listen to the bird's song of joy. Be present. Be joyful. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't here yet. Be in the present and be grateful for the experience.
Many blessings to each of you...
